Generative Design
We were asked to develop a generative and parametric audio-based typeface
for a local music festival in Copenhagen.
Based on sound, each band name is uniquely written using their own music.
The design and implementation was inspired by analog vinyl record
Microscopic changes in the record's groove makes a needle vibrate to
produce an audio signal.
We moved from idea to first sketches in a matter of hours.
Using a combination of audio and 3D technologies, we developed an
application that analyzes an audio track and renders it out as a
continuous 3D groove.
